I am Ms Lav Teo. Whether it's "Ms Teo", "Teacher Lav" or "Te-O", it's yours truly.

 

I started teaching in 1997. Thank God, over the years, I have been given the opportunities to teach at various organisations, both public and private schools, in various parts of Southeast Asia and East Asia.

 

I have also worked with a broad spectrum of students: preschoolers, primary schoolers, secondary school students, students sitting for GCE "O" English and "A" level GP (H1), students preparing for IGCSE and "AS" level English exams, as well as  university sophomores. 

​

In my experience, I find that many parents share the same concern: how to get their children to enjoy reading and writing, and do well in the language exams. I also find that, many students, regardless of age and learning aptitude, often wonder how to get out of their writing rut.  

 

In this humble blog, I will share some of my observations and insights gleaned from various teaching contexts. Apart from inspirational quotes from other learners, I will also share some writings done by my students and me. Some are joyous, some are less-than-joyous; some are whimsical, some are a bit controversial. Nevertheless, every one is a real learning moment captured.
